Whilst arguments persist over the causes of climate change, its affects are already with us, worldwide. Mott MacDonald’s breadth of skills and services and global reach makes us ideally qualified to provide holistic advice on how to respond to the challenges.


From the strategic planning for water resources in the UK, to the design of typhoon shelters in the Bay of Bengal, to delivering project finance from carbon credits for a biomass power plant in Romania – we deliver complex projects which need understanding of the drivers and impacts of climate change, as well as expertise in engineering and project management.

Issues related to climate change are becoming increasingly integrated within our projects across all sectors. As our transportation teams design and help implement congestion charging schemes, for example, and our building services designers look to maximise natural ventilation and lighting, our geotechnical experts are researching ways of using ground source heat exchangers to heat and cool buildings by exploiting foundations as heat absorbers.
