China's new water law – for which we provided
international best practice advice – created a sound platform for
our work now in supporting stronger water sector
governance
Mott MacDonald works with environmental and industrial
regulators around the world providing strategic advice and
delivering sustainable projects.
Regulatory authorities are often responsible for driving
sustainability in their countries. We’ve amassed expertise in
assessing compliance with national and international legislation,
and developed close links with environmental lawyers and government
agencies worldwide.
We also help our customers improve their non-financial reporting by
developing systems for the better management and reporting of
environmental information. For example, we created an environmental
information database of the large property portfolio of a major
manufacturer, which has greatly simplified its management of
environmental liabilities during property divestment.
Not only do we ensure that programmes and management systems
satisfy current standards, we also help to set new ones and develop
new legislation and regulations. We have been involved in the
development of
new legislation
and regulation in China and eastern Europe, and the development
of
Green Building Guidelines in
Abu Dhabi.
Mott MacDonald provides a range of strategy and management system
services to national and local governments as they seek to manage
massive growth of urban areas. We have developed strategies for
waste management, urban drainage, wastewater treatment and air
pollution control which have allowed the successful integration of
public and private funding in countries as diverse as the UK, USA,
China and India.
