Our aspirationsMott MacDonald – we're setting challenging aspirations for the future

As a forward looking company, Mott MacDonald is constantly looking at ways to further improve itself, so we've set ourselves some challenging aspirations and targets for the future.


Here are just some of our aspirations for 2008/2009.

Proud of our people


We will:
  • Continue to campaign strongly to improve our health and safety performance
  • Consolidate and improve safety and accident reporting on a global basis
  • Reduce lost time accidents and incident rates by 10% year on year
  • Maintain Investors in People accreditation in the UK
  • Promote staff surveys in all our business units, and incorporate feedback into our policies and practices
  • Promote learning and development for all staff throughout the world
  • Improve internal communications
  • Promote awareness of diversity as a key issue in employment

Serving our stakeholders


We will:
  • Maintain professional excellence as our principal corporate ethos
  • Encourage innovative thinking through the promotion of internal and external awards
  • Improve customer relationships and take account of their feedback
  • Maintain continous improvement in our customer satisfaction surveys
  • Seek to exceed our customers' expectations

Giving back


We will:
  • Encourage and support all staff working in their local communities and for humanitarian causes
  • Promote our professions to young people through school and college programmes
  • Participate in Business in the Community (BitC) 'Companies that Count' survey to provide a benchmark for our corporate responsibility behaviour
  • Maintain membership of the BitC PerCent Club
  • Maintain and promote relationships with selected universities

Looking to the future


We will:
  • Raise awareness of sustainability issues amongst staff and customers and promote best practice
  • Establish a consistent measurement system for evaluating carbon emissions from our business travel during 2008 to seek to reduce them in 2009
  • Develop green travel policies across the Group
  • Establish a consistent measurement system for energy, water and consumables use in all offices during 2008 to provide a benchmark for future reduction targets
