Marielle Rowan - social development
expertMarielle Rowan is a social development scientist with
a Masters degree in Rural Extension Studies. At Mott MacDonald,
Marielle leads on social impact assessments, social due diligence
reviews, and providing advice on public con-sultation and community
engagement for infrastructure projects, especially in the energy
sector.
For projects world-wide Marielle regularly applies the IFC
Performance Standards related to labour and working conditions,
land acquisition and involuntary resettlement, community health and
safety, indigenous peoples, and cultural heritage.
Marielle applies a community development approach to mitigation and
enhancement, having spent many years formulating and evaluating
rural development activities in a developing country context. She
regularly addresses sustainability, gender and capacity building
issues and enjoys creating training agendas that apply adult
education methodologies.
